Youth Group

For youth in grades 7 and up. Meetings are every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in the Annex, unless otherwise posted.

There are currently 17 members in Youth Group, the majority of which attend regularly. We try to do a service project or fundraiser every month, and also try to have at least one meeting a month where we have no agenda, so everyone can get caught up with members that go to other schools. Our motto? "All good Youth Groups have food."

We welcome aboard our new youth directors; Tom & Jeanetta Betzen.  Many thanks, to Helen Archibeque, who for the last 2 years has ministered to our youth.  She greatly regrets having to leave St. Mary parish, but her husband’s job has relocated him to Texas.  You may contact Tom or Jeanetta at 226-1771.  All youth grades 7^th – 12^th are invited to be a part of the youth group.

Fundraising

In order to participate in events appropriate to the youth group, fundraising is a necessity. To help you, as a parishioner, understand where the money from our fundraising goes, here are some examples of events we attend:

• Stewpot, July 2006 in Dallas
• Steubenville, July 2006 in Missouri

Other activities

• Christmas Party
• Hiking in the Chickasaw National Park
• Painting St. Mary's Thrift Shop
• Serving food at a St. Mary's poverty meal
